Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 27, 2026

AntiqScope Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") operates the AntiqScope mobile app and the website at https://antiqscope.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we handle, why we handle it, how that maps to the actual AntiqScope scan workflow, and what choices you have.

AntiqScope is a photo-based research product. When you choose an image to scan, the service uses that image to validate the request, run image analysis, and return a structured result with likely category, era, materials, confidence, value direction, and caution language. AntiqScope is not a formal appraisal or authentication service, and our privacy language is written to match that narrower use.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account, Device, and Service Identifiers

  • Anonymous app user ID: The iOS app signs in anonymously through Firebase Authentication so requests to the AntiqScope API can be tied to the correct app user without requiring a name or email-based account.
  • Device and app context: We may receive device model, OS version, app version, language, and time-zone information to operate the service and troubleshoot issues.
  • Usage and diagnostics: We collect product usage analytics and operational diagnostics to understand feature use, stability, and failure patterns.

1.2 Scan Inputs and Scan Outputs

  • Selected scan images: When you submit a scan, AntiqScope processes the image or images you choose in order to validate the request and generate a result. The app may also submit a trusted cloud-storage image URL in supported flows.
  • Upload validation metadata: For uploaded scans, our backend validates file name, content type, size, image count, and request size before processing.
  • Scan record data: We keep scan status, timestamps, scan source type, result payload, confidence, value framing, and related service metadata so scans can move through the queue and support troubleshooting.
  • Collection state: Server-side scan records can include saved or favorite state used by the product's collection flow.

1.3 Purchases, Entitlements, and Support

Purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your full payment card details or Apple ID credentials. We do receive subscription and entitlement state needed to decide whether premium access is active, whether a free scan was consumed, and whether restore or support flows should unlock access.

If you email support, we receive the email address you use, the contents of your message, and any attachments or screenshots you choose to send. If you opt in to notifications, we also receive the push token needed to send them.

1.4 Information We Do Not Collect By Default

  • We do not require your real name, mailing address, or phone number to use the app.
  • We do not collect your contacts or message history.
  • We do not collect your precise GPS location as part of the scan flow.
  • We do not sell personal information to third parties for advertising.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use information to operate the product described on the site and in the app, including to:

  • Authenticate the app session and authorize scan access
  • Validate submitted scan inputs and generate scan results
  • Store scan status, result, and operational metadata for reliability and support review
  • Manage subscription and entitlement status, including restore and webhook recovery paths
  • Maintain local scan history, saved pieces, and behavior-driven reminder flows on device
  • Send push notifications only if you grant permission
  • Measure product usage, diagnose bugs, and improve scan quality and app stability
  • Respond to support, legal, privacy, or policy requests
  • Protect the service through rate limiting, abuse prevention, and operational auditing

3. How AntiqScope Handles Scan Images

AntiqScope is built around the image you choose to scan. In practical terms, that means:

  • The selected image is processed to validate the request and produce the structured result you see in the app.
  • Our server-side scan record stores scan source and result metadata. For uploaded-image scans, backend maintenance later redacts stored upload-source metadata after the configured retention window.
  • The app also keeps a local scan history on your device, including compressed image data for history and saved-piece flows. The current app store keeps up to 60 local history entries unless you delete them sooner.
  • If you do not want a scan image to remain in local history, delete the entry in the app or remove the app data from your device.

4. Third-Party Services

We use a small set of service providers to run the app, subscriptions, analytics, and scan analysis:

Service Purpose Data Collected Privacy Policy
Apple App Store App distribution and in-app purchases Purchase transactions and subscription billing Apple Privacy
Firebase (Google) Anonymous authentication, analytics, and push messaging Anonymous user ID, usage events, device/app context, push token Firebase Privacy
Adapty Subscription and entitlement management Anonymous user identifier, plan and entitlement state Adapty Privacy
Google Gemini Image analysis for scan result generation Scan input needed to generate category, era, material, confidence, and value guidance Google Privacy

5. Data Storage and Security

AntiqScope uses a mix of local device storage and server-side operational storage. Local scan history in the iOS app is stored on your device. Server-side systems store scan, entitlement, audit, and support records needed to operate and secure the service.

We use commercially reasonable safeguards including authenticated API access, request validation, rate limits, and encryption in transit. No internet service or storage environment can be guaranteed 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

  • Local scan history: Stored on your device until you delete entries, older entries are pushed out by the in-app limit, or app data is removed.
  • Uploaded-image source metadata in server scan records: Scheduled for redaction after the configured maintenance window, currently 7 days.
  • Entitlement, audit, and support records: Retained as needed to operate the service, investigate issues, enforce terms, and meet legal obligations.
  • Analytics and provider-side retention: Controlled in part by the third-party platforms we use.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or export certain personal information that we hold about you.

  • Access: Ask what data we hold about your use of AntiqScope.
  • Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Deletion: Ask us to delete information we are not required to keep.
  • Restriction or objection: Ask us to limit or stop certain processing where the law gives you that option.
  • Portability: Ask for a portable copy of data you provided where required by law.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@antiqscope.com. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.

For users in the EEA, UK, or similar jurisdictions, we generally process data on the basis of consent, contract performance, legal obligations, and legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the service.

8. California And Similar U.S. Rights

If you live in California or another U.S. state with privacy rights, you may also have rights to:

  • Know what categories of personal information we collect and disclose
  • Request deletion of eligible personal information
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Opt out of sales or targeted advertising where applicable. AntiqScope does not sell personal information.

9. Children's Privacy

AntiqScope is not directed to children under 13, or under the higher minimum age where local law requires it. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the service, contact us and we will review the report.

10. International Transfers

Because we use U.S.-based and global infrastructure providers, your information may be processed outside your home jurisdiction. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

11. Push Notifications

If you opt in, AntiqScope may send notifications about reminders and product activity tied to your app use. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.

12. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product or legal requirements change. If the changes are material, we will update this page and the effective date, and may also provide notice in the app or on the site.
